Yes, the minimum educational qualification in respect of an applicant for obtaining a licence to drive a transport vehicle is 8th standard. A person driving a goods vehicle carrying goods of dangerous or hazardous nature to human life should also has the ability to read and write atleast one Indian language specified in VIII Schedule of the Constitution and English.
