Here is the step by step procedure to get your family tree certificate in Bangalore
Step 1: Prepare the draft in word format. Below sample draft for your reference.
Step 2: Print the draft on the non-judicial e-stamp paper. Stamp value Rs. 100/-. (E-stamp paper available at the co-operative bank, court, register office near you)
Step 3: Meet the notary public near you (Usually notary available at your local court, register office)
Carry the following documents to notary public
- Death certificate of deceased
- Relationship proof (Your Aadhar or passport).
Step 4: Notary public reads the certificate to deponent (to you). Notary verify relationship proof.
Step 5: Deponent should sign a certificate in front of a notary. Notary public sign and attest the certificate. Certificate looks like below image.

1.Go to nadakacheri office of your area.
2.Get the format of the family tree which would be available in the office
3. On a 20 Rs. estamp paper type the details as per the format . Get this affidavit signed by a notary who normally charges 100 to 150 Rs.
4. Submit this affidavit at the respective counter along with your current tax paid receipt. You need to pay 40 Rs.
5.The operator will enter the details in the computer as per the information provided in the family tree affidavit that you submitted.
6.Check the details entered.
7. Then, you will be issued an acknowledgement with an RD Number.
They say ,it takes 14 days to get the certificate. If are lucky enough ,you will get it. Otherwise you wont get anything ( Because, without paying bribe they may not process your application at all as in my case)
To help you out ,agents are available out side the office ,who demand 6000 Rs, , and get you the certificate within 2 day(Including Preparing affidavit and notary signature).
If you prepare the affidavit ,then the agent may ask 3500/=Rs
