Procedure involved to get this service | The applicant has to submit an application for this service to the designated official at the office of the concerned Revenue Officer along with the documents prescribed for this service herein and obtain an acknowledgement. The application for change of Khata will be scrutinised and a fresh khata will be issued to the applicant by the office of the Revenue Officer. An intimation will be sent to the applicant for collecting the fresh Khata issued. |
Who are eligible to get this service | Those citizens who have inherited properties by way a will of the deceased or by death of a property owner. |
Documents to be enclosed with the request |
1 . Application for khata transfer on a prescribed form which may be downloaded from this site. 2 . Applicants identity and signature proof, along with 3 pp sized photos. 3 . Original khata is to be surrendered, therefore to be enclosed. 4 . Encumbrance certificate from the inception of for 15 years whichever is less. 5 . If the applicant is inheriting the property through the deceased, death certificate of the owner, successor certificate, family tree and id proof as proof of the applicant being the blood relative of the person deceased are to be enclosed. 6 . If the applicant is inheriting the property through a will of the deceased owner of the property, then identity proof, family tree of the applicant are to be submitted as proof to the effect that the person inherited the property through the will of the deceased, is same as the applicant. 7 . Further, the applicant claiming to be the successor of the property, by way of the will of the deceased, has to submit an indemnity bond on a rs.100 stamp paper, to the effect that the applicant will indemnify against losses if any thereof with transfer of khata based on his or her claims. 8 . Notarised affidavit of the one or several applicants who are legal successors of the property, singularly or jointly as applicable, on a rs.20, stamp paper to the effect that the applicants are the legal successors of the property. 9 . If original title deeds are lost, the applicants who are successors of the property have to submit an indemnity bond on a rs.100 stamp paper, to the effect that the the applicants will indemnify against losses if any thereof with the transfer of khata based on their claims. |
Fee/Charges to be paid to get the service | Rs.250 to be paid for khata transfer in the event of death of the original owner. At the time of applying for khata transfer,the unpaid property tax till date is also to be paid at the rate of Rs.0.20/Sq.Ft/year for vacant land, Rs.1.20/Sq.Ft/year for self occupied building and for leased out buildings at Rs.2.40/Sq.Ft/Year. An additional of Rs.500 is to be paid, for private (non BDA) properties, as general khata transfer fee. |
