  • A worker has the right to keep his passport and other documents at all times. As it is illegal for the sponsor to take custody of employees’ passports, one should not hand them over to the sponsor even for safekeeping. 
  • Any complaints in this regard may be reported to the Ministry of Labour (Toll-Free Helpline Number 19911)
  • It must, however, be noted that even with a passport in your custody, you need an exit visa for leaving the Kingdom for which the consent of the employer/sponsor is a must.
