Tatkal waiting list tickets have a lower chance of confirmation compared to regular waiting list tickets, as they’re given last priority. Tatkal tickets are for last-minute bookings, so they’re in high demand, and only a few cancellations occur. However, if there are many last-minute cancellations, your Tatkal ticket might still get confirmed. Check the PNR Status frequently, as it can change up to the time of chart preparation (a few hours before departure). If it remains unconfirmed, the fare for an unconfirmed Tatkal ticket is usually refunded, but it’s best to have a backup travel plan just in case.
