Is there any general advice for filing three years' worth of IRS taxes, especially if I anticipate getting a decent refund and don't expect to owe anything? Should I consider hiring a tax attorney, using a tax preparation service like H&R Block, or are there other recommended options for this situation?

You may qualify for free filing through Get Your Refund:
They can still e-file 2020 - 2022 returns this year as long as you qualify and get started before Oct 1.
Or you can wait until next tax season and go to a free tax preparation program; since most are open Feb 1 through April 15, check the locators in early January.

You can also prepare your own returns - right now you can still e-file your 2022 return through any of the IRS Free File guided options.

You can use FreetaxUSA to prepare prior year returns. You will need to print and mail in any prior year returns you prepare yourself; You can use certified mail if you wind up mailing in a 2020 tax return.
For 2020 you have until May 15, 2024 to still claim a refund, but don't wait until the last minute.
