My application for naturalization is pending and my green card will soon expire. What should I do?

If you filed for naturalization more than 6 months before your green card's expiration date, you can contact USCIS to request an appointment at your regional field office to obtain a free stamp that extends the validity of your GC.

You may not be allowed to set up that appointment until until 30 days from your card's expiration.

If you filed for naturalization less than 6 months from your green card's expiration, and if you need valid proof of status, you'll need to file a form I-90 to renew your green card.
