The certificate issuing authority should verify and ensure that:

(i) the caste or the tribe to which the candidate claims to belong to is included in the Presidential Orders issued from time to time under Articles 341 and 342 of the Constitution;

(ii) the candidate belongs to the said caste/tribe;

(iii) the candidate ordinarily resides in the concerned State or part of that State etc. (The term 'ordinarily resides' has the same meaning as in section 20 of the Representation of Peoples Act 1950).
