What is Arogya Karnataka and when will it be implemented ?

For all residents of Karnataka State, primary healthcare, normal secondary healthcare, complex secondary healthcare, tertiary healthcare and emergency healthcare shall be provided through a new universal health coverage scheme named “Arogya Karnataka"

The objective of the scheme is to extend ‘Universal Health Coverage’ to all residents in Karnataka State. Under this new scheme, primary health care, specified secondary and tertiary health care benefits will be provided.

The following existing schemes shall be converged in the Arogya Karnataka scheme.

  • Yeshaswini Scheme;
  • Vajpayee Arogyashree Scheme;
  • Rajiv Arogya Bhagya Scheme;
  • Rashtriya Swasthaya Bima Yojana (RSBY) including RSBY for senior citizens;
  • Rashtriya Bala Swasthaya Karyakram (RBSK);
  • Mukhyamantri Santwana Harish Scheme.
  • Indira Suraksha Yojane

Arogya Karnataka is a universal health coverage scheme wherein primary, specific secondary and tertiary care is provided to all citizens of the State in an Assurance Mode. The scheme will be rolled out from the first week of March 2018 and will cover the entire State in phases by the end of the year.
