What is the procedure to make an affidavit in order to prove two names belong to the same person? How long will it take and what documents are required?

Here is the step by step procedure to make an affidavit,

Step 1: Prepare affidavit draft in word format.

Step 2: Print affidavit draft on e-stamp paper ( Buy an e-stamp paper at any co-operative bank near you. A Rs.100 stamp value would be standard for affidavit execution)

Step 3: Attach any one of the supporting documents with affidavit like aadhar, passport or driving license for lawyer cross verification.

Step 4: Infront of notary lawyer, sign the affidavit and supporting documents. Must sign at all pages. Get the affidavit attested from notary lawyer.

This completed the procedure for affidavit execution.

Duration to execute an affidavit is to buy stamp paper, print affidavit and meet notary lawyer. For me, it takes maximum of 30 min to complete affidavit execution.

• Any of your government approved ID proof like aadhar, passport or driving license

• Any of the specific supporting document for your intended purpose to execute affidavit like degree certificate, mark sheet, employment letter, marriage certificate, bank statement etcetera

• Supporting documents should be photocopy, however, should carry original at the time of notary, as lawyer may cross verify original.
