What is Updated EC? I want to apply online for Khata Transfer but recently my neighbors application got rejected asking for Updated EC. Few months back other residents of out apartment have already got khata either through online or applying in person at BBMP office. Ours is newly constructed apartment with occupancy of less than a year. 1.Can you please tell me what is updated EC before I apply through Sakala. 2. If the flat is registered in two people name then should we compulsorily do Joint khata?

Updated EC means till date Encumbrance Certificate (EC)

When we submit the application for khata transfer, it is mandatory to submit the FORM 15 EC from 1st April 2004 to till date (till today)

If your property is registered before 2004, should submit the EC from the date of property registration to till date (till today)

For Example I extracted the below encumbrance certificate on 19th March 2013, the extraction date is  from 1st April 2004 to 19th March 2013, We encircled the extract date in below EC

On 8th March 2022, I want to apply for khata transfer so I want EC till date (till today). I extracted the EC again from 1st April 2004 to 8th March 2022.

Note: I should not submit my old EC which was extracted on 13th March 2013 for filing khata application on 8th March 2022.  so I extracted new EC and filed the khata application. 

For filling khata application, approx 15 days tolerance in EC is accepted.

• Sale Deed
• Latest Encumbrance Certificate (EC)
• Current financial year tax paid receipt
• Occupation certificate if purchased from builder or seller’s khata if purchased from individual
• Affidavit for joint Khata application
