Abua Awas Yojana
The main objective of Abua Awas Yojana is to provide pucca houses to the homeless. Under Abua Awas Yojana, a target has been set to construct eight lakh pucca houses for the homeless. In the first phase, 02 lakh houses will be constructed in the financial year 2023-24, 03 lakh 50 thousand in 2024-25 and 02 lakh 50 thousand pucca houses will be constructed in 2025-26. The housing will be constructed in three phases at a cost of Rs 16 thousand 320 crore.
Layout of Abua Awas Yojana
Under the umbrella of the Abua Awas Yojana, a three-room permanent house and kitchen will be built, having an area of 31 square meters.
Under the scheme, provision has been made for a kitchen along with three rooms. There is a provision to increase the assistance amount for house construction under the scheme to Rs 2 lakh for eligible beneficiaries. |
Also, the beneficiary will receive a maximum equivalent of 95 unskilled man days at the current wage rate (revised from time to time) for the construction of his house under MGNREGA for the said scheme.
Eligibility Criteria for Abua Awas Yojana
Following is the eligibility criteria for Abua Awas Yojana.

Families living in mud houses.

Houseless and destitute families

Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVIC) Families

Families victim of natural disaster

Legally released bonded laborers

Those who have not been given the benefit of housing scheme run by the state and central Government like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Rural / Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Awas Yojana / Birsa Awas Yojana / Indira Awas Yojana etc shall be able to receive the benefits of the aforementioned scheme.
According to the above mentioned eligibility criteria, a permanent waiting list of the beneficiary will be prepared in the Gram Sabha.
Ineligible Categories for Abua Awas Yojana
Following are the ineligible categories for Abua Awas Yojana.

Those who already have a permanent residence or have received the benefit of housing scheme run by the State Government or Central Government after 01.01.1990 such as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Rural/Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Awas Yojana/Birsa Awas Yojana, Indira Awas Yojana etc.

Those who own a four-wheeler/fishing boat

Those who own three wheeler/four wheeler mechanized agricultural equipment

A family member in which any member is in government/semi-government (serving/retired) job

A family whose member has been selected as a public representative by election

Any member of the family is an income tax payer

Any member of the family is a professional tax payer

If there is a refrigerator in the family

Households having 2.5 acres or more of irrigated land with minimum irrigation equipment.

This scheme will be a 100 percent state government supported scheme. The houses will be constructed by the beneficiaries themselves or with the help of their family members. No middleman will be involved in housing construction and entry of middlemen will be completely prohibited. |
