How to apply for a Personal nol Card in Dubai?

This service enables you to register your anonymous Silver or Gold nol card, or apply for a Personal nol card, which has the same features and advantages of registered Silver/Gold cards but comes with different categories (Senior Citizens, Adults, Students, Social Affairs and People of Determination).

Eligibility Criteria to apply for a Personal nol Card in Dubai

All individual customers above 5 years old are eligible to apply for this service.

Documents Required to apply for a Personal nol Card in Dubai

Adults

1. Copy of the valid Emirates ID (front and back)

2. Personal photograph with a white background.

People of Determination (Resident)

1. Copy of the valid Emirates ID (front and back)

2. Personal photograph with a white background

3. Copy of People of Determination card issued by the competent authorities in the UAE (ex. Sanad Card issued by the Community Development Authority in Dubai).

People of Determination (Tourist)

1. Copy of the Passport or ID card

2. Personal photograph with a white background

3. An official document issued by the competent authorities in the applicant's country, stating that the person requesting the permit is a Person of Determination or requires special assistance.

Note: All submitted documents should be in Arabic or English, otherwise the customer is requested to submit a legalised translation to process the application.

Students (From 5 to 23 years old)

1. Copy of the valid Emirates ID (front and back)

2. Personal photograph with a white background

3. An official document proving that the applicant is a current student in one of the UAE schools.

Senior Citizens (60 years old and above)

1. Copy of the valid Emirates ID (front and back)

2. Recent personal photograph with a white background.

Social Affairs Beneficiaries

1. Copy of the valid Emirates ID (front and back)

2. Personal photograph with a white background

3. An official and valid letter/document from the Community Development Authority stating that the customer is entitled for social assistance.

How to apply for a Personal nol Card in Dubai?

Through RTA Website or RTA Dubai Smart App

• The customer selects Apply for a Personal nol Card from the service list.

• The customer fills in the application form of the service on the website or the smart application (type of the card, category, personal information, Emirates ID information, contact information and address).

• The customer uploads the required documents.

• The customer settles the fees by credit or debit card.

• The customer receives the application reference number through SMS.

• The customer receives SMS updates on his application and card status throughout the process.

• The customer receives his card within 4 working days from the application submission date.

Through Zoom Shops in metro stations (for adults only) - nol Express Service

• The customer heads to the Zoom shop at the Metro station.

• The customer provides his Emirates ID.

• The customer settles the fees.

• The customer receives the card.

Fees Required

• 70 AED for Personal Silver nol card; including a balance of 20 AED and 50 AED application fees

• 80 AED for Personal Gold nol; including a balance of 20 AED, 50 AED application fees and 10 AED for the Gold card design

• 30 AED to personalise the Silver/Gold Anonymous card

• 100 AED for Personal nol Silver card with special design:

  • 50 AED for the personal card application fees

  • 30 AED for the special design

  • 20 AED card balance

• 110 AED for Personal nol Gold card with special design:

  • 50 AED for the personal card application fees

  • 30 AED for the special design

  • 20 AED card balance

  • 10 AED gold template

• Students (age 5 to 23), social affairs beneficiaries and senior emiratis aged 60 years and above benefit from a 50% discount on public transport fares when using the Metro, Bus and Dubai Tram.

• This service is free for People of Determination and children below 5 years when using Dubai Metro, Tram and Bus.

Validity

• The card validity is 5 years.

• Student card: 1 year renewable concession period. After the end of the year, the card charges the regular fare without the 50% discount, unless the customer applies again for a student nol card if he is still eligible.

Terms & Conditions

• Student Cards:

  • The concession period is valid for 1 year only and must be renewed once expired to keep benefitting from the concession, otherwise, the student card can be used for transport and non-transport services and charged as per the regular/standard travel fees.

  • The student card discount is valid only on the Bus, Tram and Metro if the concession is valid.

  • The student’s age must be between 5 and 23 years.

• Senior card: The customer’s age must be 60 years and above.

• The printed name on the personal nol card is the first and last name of the customer as stated on the Emirates ID.

• Personal nol card categories with concession and discount (students, senior emiratis, social affairs and People of Determination) are only applicable to the regular/silver class only.

• Personal nol cards with Gold class are available for the adults category only.

• Personal nol card delivery is free of charge.

• Personal or registered card holders receive a PIN code.

• The customer must have the PIN code of the personal and registered card to be able to manage his card's file through the website or through the smart application.

• In case of any delay in receiving the card, the customer can contact RTA Call Centre on 8009090. The customer can also follow up on the process through the website.

• The customer should adhere to the size and type of the supporting documents: png or jpeg format /size less than 2 MB.

• Only adults are eligible to apply in Zoom shops through nol express service.

• Blocked nol cards cannot be re-activated.

• nol card registration fees are non- refundable and non-transferable.

• Personal nol card applications are rejected without refund if they did not meet the application conditions, or the customer didn’t confirm or update the required documents within three working days.

• Anonymous nol card applications are rejected without refund if they did not meet the application conditions.

• Returned /uncollected personal nol cards are blocked without refund if the customer did not claim them within 30 working days.

• If the card was lost or stolen, the cardholder is responsible for any usage on his card for a period of 48 hours, which starts from the moment he notifies RTA that the card was stolen or lost. RTA will not be responsible for the available balance on the card until 48 hours have passed.

• Customers cannot personalise their anonymous card in case it was lost, stolen, faulty or damaged; as the personalisation won't be activated.

• To activate the nol card registration the customer must tap the nol card for check in and check out in the Metro gates located at any Metro station.
