Arundhati and Maitreyi scheme of Karnataka
The Government of Karnataka has introduced Arundhati to provide financial assistance to brides from economically weaker sections among the Brahmins.
Benefits of Arundhati and Maitreyi scheme
According to the Karnataka State Brahmin Development Board, under the "Arundhati" scheme, families of Brahmin brides will get Rs 25,000 while under the "Maitreyi" scheme, they will receive Rs 3 lakh if the woman marries a priest in the state.
Eligibility Criteria of Arundhati and Maitreyi scheme

Brahmins who come from economically backward sections of society will be eligible

It should be the woman's first marriage.

The married couple will also have to give an undertaking that they would remain married for a specified period of time

Should belong to economically weaker section of Brahmin caste according to standards/rules set by Government of India.
Documents Required for Arundhati and Maitreyi scheme
Caste and income certificate and other relevant documents in prescribed form issued by the Revenue Department of Karnataka proving they are from the economically backward class and moreover, they have to also belong to the Brahmin community.
