Beti Hai Anmol Yojana

The main purpose of the Beti Hai Anmol Yojana is to encourage education of the girl child for BPL families, and this scheme would provide assistance to up to 2 girl children of the BPL family. This scheme aims to make the girl self- reliant with necessary financial assistance and education. Financial Assistance would be given at the time of the birth of the girl child and then an annual scholarship would be given to the girl child.

Features of Beti Hai Anmol Yojana

Beti Hai Anmol Yojana is being implemented entirely by the state government with the objective of providing assistance to two daughters born in families living below the poverty line, funded by the state's own resources. This scheme will come into effect from the date of notification issued in this regard.

Objectives of Beti Hai Anmol Yojana

Following are the objectives of Beti Hai Anmol Yojana

• To bring about a change in the negative attitude towards the daughter and mother on the birth of a daughter in the family and community.

• Ban on child marriage of daughters.

• Encouragement for daughter's admission to school and continuing her education

• Assistance to girls to adopt income generating activities.

• To make girls strong and self-reliant.

Benefits under Beti Hai Anmol Yojana

Following are the benefits under Beti Hai Anmol Yojana.

• After the birth of an eligible daughter, Post Birth Grant (Post Birth Grant, Rs. 5100/-) will be deposited by the government in the name of the daughter in the post office/bank branch for 18 years.

• The eligible daughter will be given scholarship for each class during her education, the details of which are as follows-

• Rs 300/- per year from first class to third class

• Rs 500/- per year in class IV

• Rs. 60/- per year in class five

• Rs. 700/- per year in Chhadi and 7th class.

• Rs 800/- per year in class 10th

• Rs 1000/- per year in class 9th and 10th

• Education incentive of Rs. 1500/- per year in class 11th and 12th.

Eligibility Criteria for Beti Hai Anmol Yojana

Following are the eligibility criteria for Beti Hai Anmol Yojana.

• The family of the eligible daughter should be a permanent resident of Himachal Pradesh.

• The applicant's family should be identified in the list of families living below the poverty line.

• The beneficiary daughter should not get married before completing 18 years of age.

• The number of families identified in the list of families living below the poverty line, certificate of the date of birth of the daughter and number of daughters born in the family (like first daughter, second daughter), etc. should have been issued by the concerned authorized officer.
