How to get Birth Certificate in Nagaland?
Birth certificate of Nagaland is an official record of a child. A Birth certificate is an immutable document that guides our identity; allowing us to receive a social security card, a driver’s license, and a passport.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility for applying the Birth certificate is any citizen or foreigner who is born in Nagaland.
Documents Required
The following are the documents required for Birth Certificate in Nagaland.

If the birth takes place at a dispensary/hospital, the register record is enough.

Address proof (Voter ID, Driving License, etc.) of parents

Aadhaar Card of Parents

If the birth takes place at a house, the citizen has to approach the local body (with address and Aadhar as stated above) and inform in writing. Then it will be verified & the certificate will be issued as applicable.

Certificate of Doctor OR Hospital discharge certificate.

In case of delayed registration (after an applicable period as per state norms), an affidavit from judicial magistrate / Notary (as advised) as applicable is required (indicating the date and place of birth, names of parent and evidence of the event of birth).

In the event of a failure to register a birth within the stipulated period of 21 days, one has to obtain a no-objection certificate (NOC).

In case you have applied after a month but within a year you have to obtain permission from the authorities as advised.

In case applied after one year, need to obtain judicial order from a Magistrate and copy of the said order is required to be attached with the prescribed application form.

If there is no record for birth from the hospital, then the village head / Regional Councillor / MLA / MP / MBS Certificate of signature and stamp with any one of the doctor should be submitted
Apply Online for Birth Certificate
Follow below are the steps to apply online for Birth Certificate in Nagaland.

Visit E-District Nagaland website.

Select “Login to E-District”.

If you are an existing user login using User ID and password. Otherwise, click on “Sign Up”.

After SignIn, the application form for Birth Certificate in Nagaland will appear

Click on “E-District Services”.

Select “Birth Certificate”.

Enter the required details.

After filling up the form, USERs will be redirected to the Payment Gateway for paying the necessary Fess as prescribed for Services.

Non-payment of Service Fees will be considered an incomplete application and the Application will not be submitted for further processing by the Service Providing Department.

Users are also informed that there are Free Services like Application for Birth Certificate (within 20 days from Date of Birth), which do not require making any payment for processing.

The e-District Payment Gateway has Transaction Charges and includes applicable GST which will be charged to the Applicant. This Transaction Fee is fixed for all Modes of Payment i.e. Debit/Credit Cards, NetBanking, etc.
