How to apply for Consumer Product Advertising Permit in Dubai?

This service enables you to obtain an advertising permit to promote consumer products in the local market such as cosmetics, personal care products, fragrances, health supplements, detergents and biocides, after verifying their conformity with the health and safety standards and requirements adopted in Dubai Municipality.

Terms and Conditions to apply for Consumer Product Advertising Permit in Dubai

• Only establishments with relevant activity can apply for this service after registering the consumer products subject of the advertisement in Dubai Municipality.

• This service covers only the consumer products registered with Dubai Municipality and still have a valid registration.

• Products must belong to the same brand and the same product group.

• There is no limit to the maximum number of products to be listed in the application.

• The validity of the advertising permit is from 1 to 12 months maximum, from the date specified in the application.

•  Medical (curative) or exaggerated claims are rejected. 

•  Illustrations, pictures and expressions that contradict with social customs and values are rejected 

• Other official approvals must be obtained, if needed, from other related governmental entities such as the Department of Economic Development (DED) or Dubai Municipality City Beautification and Public Projects Department - Advertising Section, or the Ministry of Health and Prevention.

• The permit is cancelled in case there is any modification done to the approved advertisement content without getting official approvals from Dubai Municipality, or incase of any noncompliance with the service conditions. As this is considered a violation that calls for measures against the concerned company according to the laws and regulations then in force in Dubai Municipality.

•  Incomplete applications are returned Once only to complete the requested remarks.

• The application is rejected in case the incomplete application was resubmitted without updating the required information or submitting the missing requested documents.

• Automatic cancellation, in case the incomplete application was not resubmitted within 45 days from its reversal date

• Automatic cancellation, in case payment for the submitted application was not done within 45 days from the submission date.

• The application is reviewed and completed within 3 working days maximum, if all requirements were fulfilled, and there was no need for other documents or certificates, and no claims in the advertising content that requires more time to review and study.

• Apply for the service and the upload required documents.

• Pay the due fees.

• Check Dubai Municipality's reply (Approved/Rejected/Incomplete) through the website - Montaji system.

• Check the application remarks through the website in case of incomplete status; comply with the remarks, upload the required documents and re-submit the application to proceed with the process

• Receive the electronic permit through the company's account on Montaji in case of approval.
