Foreign Scholarship Scheme for Meritorious Students in Maharashtra

To promote meritorious education and encouragement of meritorious students so that meritorious students / students belonging to deprived castes and nomadic tribes, other backward classes and special backward classes should not be deprived of higher education in reputed educational institutes abroad due to financial constraints.

Eligibility Criteria of Foreign Scholarship Scheme for Meritorious Students in Maharashtra

• Students should be from deprived castes and nomadic tribes, other backward classes and special backward classes.

• The student should have got admission in the educational institutes / universities within 200 in the latest THE / QS updated world rankings abroad.

• The student must be enrolled for a full-time study order.

• The annual income of the parents / family of the student should not exceed 8 lakhs.

• Students enrolled for postgraduate degree or postgraduate course abroad should have passed the degree examination with at least 60% marks from recognized universities in India.

Benefits of Foreign Scholarship Scheme for Meritorious Students in Maharashtra

The following benefits are given for higher education abroad:

• The total tuition fee charged by a foreign educational institution for the academic period,

• Expenses incurred as per the rate fixed by the concerned educational institution for admission or as fixed by the DOPT department of the Government of India for foreign scholarships or the amount to be announced by the Government of Maharashtra from time to time for this purpose.

• Economy class airfare rates for the shortest route as per the guidelines of the Government of India for the student to get admission in a foreign university and return to India after completing the course.
