Ganga Kalyan Scheme
Under the Ganga Kalyan scheme, irrigation facilities will be provided to the agricultural lands owned by the small and marginal Scheduled Tribes farmers by drilling borewell/ digging open well, followed by installation of pump sets and accessories with due energization.
Scheme Support
(a) Lift Irrigation Scheme:
Under this scheme, irrigation facilities are provided to the agricultural farmers with Lift Irrigation (River) through the pipeline. The scheme is implemented by the corporation and then handed over to the beneficiaries' consumer cooperative societies. Advice and assistance is provided by the experts to obtain a good crop. This scheme is a complete subsidy scheme. Applicants must submit an online application through the website.
(b) Individual Borewell Scheme:
Wherever perennial water source is not available, borewells are drilled underground within the water points identified through the help of expert Geologists and tanks are built for storage of water and to help flowing through pipes to the agricultural lands. This Scheme is a entirely a subsidised scheme.
Under this scheme, for the beneficiaries holding is 1 acre in Kodagu, Dakshin Kannada, Udupi, Karwar, Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga & Hassan districts and 1 acre 20 guntas in remaining districts with a amaximum of 5 acres. 01 Acre and 20 Guntas to 05 acres of land, one borewell will be drilled or oen well will be constructed and pump set will be supplied by KMDC. Applicants must submit an online application through the website.
(c) Open Well Scheme:
Wherever it is not possible to drill individual borewell like obstacle by rain, standing crops etc., and for other reasons, open well will be built on request from small and marginal farmers. The District Manager will receive applications and other documents as per the norms of Ganga Kalyana Scheme and submit the proposal duly approved by the MLA of respective Assembly Constituency, to Head Office.
The Government has allocated Rs.1.50 Lakhs and Rs. 3.00 Lakhs for the Individual Borewell Project. This amount will be for the borewell drilling, pumpsets supply and Rs. 50,000/- for electrification deposit. Under this scheme, subsidy of and Rs. 3,50,000/- to Bangalore Rural, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Ramanagara and Tumkur districts and Rs. 2,00,000/- for the other districts in Karnataka
Eligibility Criteria for Ganga Kalyan Scheme

The beneficiaries should belong to religious minorities community as defined in the Government Order.

They should be permanent residents of Karnataka State.

They should be small and marginal farmers.

The annual income of the family in rural areas shall not exceed Rs.96,000/- Rs.1.03 Lakhs in urban areas.

They should produce ‘Aadhar’ Card, Voter ID, Ration Card for residence proof
- The age of the applicant is between 18 to 55 years

Charges for Ganga Kalyan Scheme
Charges for Lift Irrigation Scheme
The unit cost is fixed at Rs.4.00 lakhs for the units consisting up to 8.00 acres of land and at Rs.6.00 lakhs for the units up to 15.00 acres of land. The entire cost under the scheme is treated as a subsidy.
Charges for Individual Irrigation Borewell Scheme
The unit cost is fixed @ Rs.4.50 lakhs in respect of Bangalore urban, Bangalore Rural, Ramanagara, Kolar, Chikkaballapur and Tumkur Districts where the ground water table is depleted. In respect of other districts, the unit cost is Rs.3.50 lakhs. The unit cost comprises of energisation cost of Rs.0.50 lakh, Loan of Rs.0.50 lakh and remaining amount will be the subsidy. The loan carries interest @6% per annum repayable by the beneficiaries along with the principal amount in 12 half yearly instalments.
