Legal Heirship certificate is an official statement provided to the citizen by the state government establishing the relationship between the deceased and legal heirs.

Once the death certificate is obtained from the municipality/corporation, it is required that the successors apply for this legal heir certificate to claim their right over the deceased person’s properties and dues.

If Legal Heir Certificate is required for outside State Purposes, the certificate will be issued from Taluk(s) Office.

If Legal Heir Certificate is required for State Purposes, the certificate will be issued from Village(s) Office.

Documents Required for Legal Heirship Certificate in Kerala

Following documents are required to get Legal Heirship Certificate in Kerala.

• Visit Kerala E-District portal.

• Click on "Create Account".

• Enter the basic details about the applicant such as name, address, aadhaar number etc.

• Provide the login and password details.

• Applicant has to validate their Aadhaar number to complete the registration in  E-district portal.

• Click on "Legal Heir Certificate".

• Click on "Apply Now".

• Select the eDistrict Register No.
