Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme is being implemented by the Government of Tamil Nadu to assist poor parents in getting their daughters married and to promote the educational status of poor girls.

Girls belonging to poor families and below the poverty line
Financial Assistance of Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme
The benefit will be given in the name of mother or father, In case of the death of the parents, it will be given to the bride.
Scheme 1: Rs.25,000/- ( through ECS) +8 grams gold ( 1 sovereign ) gold coin 22 carats is provided for making Thirumangalyam.
Scheme 2: Rs.50,000./- ( through ECS) + 8 grams gold ( 1 sovereign) 22-carat gold coin for making Thirumangalyam.
Eligibility Criteria for Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme
Scheme 1:

The bride should have studied 10th Std (passed or failed).

If studied in private / distance education bride should have passed 10th std.

The bride should have studied up to V Std in the case of a Scheduled Tribe.

The income limits do Not exceed Rs.72,000/- per annum for the family.

The bride’s age limit should have completed 18 years of age at the time of marriage. There is no upper age limit.

Only one girl from a family is eligible

Degree Holders from regular colleges, Distance Education / Government recognized Open universities are eligible.

Diploma holders should have qualified from Institutions recognized by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu.

The income limit does not exceed Rs.72,000/- per annum for the family.

The bride’s age limit should have completed 18 years of age at the time of marriage. There is no upper age limit.

Only one girl from a family is eligible.

How to apply for Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme?

Apply for this scheme at District Social Welfare Department in your area and approach the nearest e-Service Center with the relevant documents.

They will submit applications online to the Union Office for Panchayats, the Municipal Commission for Municipalities, and the Corporation Commission for Corporations.

The application should be done within 40 days before the date of marriage. However even one day before marriage also applications are accepted.
