National Scholarships Portal is a one-stop solution through which various services starting from student application, application receipt, processing, sanction and disbursal of various scholarships to Students are enabled. National Scholarships Portal is taken as a Mission Mode Project under National e-Governance Plan (NeGP).

Types of Scholarships under National Scholarship Portal
Scholarship schemes are divided in following major categories described below (Students are required to select the class/course in which they are studying):

Pre- Matric Scholarship Scheme: For students studying in class 1st to Class 10th
- Post-Matric Scholarship scheme/Top Class Scholarship Scheme/Merit Cum Means Scholarship Scheme: For students studying from Class 11th, 12th and above including Courses like ITI, B.SC, B. Com., B. Tech, Medical /students studying top level colleges such as IITs and IIMs/ students doing Technical and Professional courses etc. (Attach a hyperlink mentioning details of schemes of different Ministries)

Documents Required to Register on National Scholarship Portal
Following documents are required to register on the National Scholarship Portal.

Educational documents of student
- Student's Bank account number and IFSC code of the bank branch
Note: For pre matric scholarship schemes, where students do not have their own bank account, parents can provide their own account details. However, parents' account numbers can only be used against scholarship applications for a maximum of two children. |

Aadhaar number of the Student
-
If Aadhaar is not available, then Bonafide student certificate from Institute / School and
-
Aadhaar Enrolment ID or Scanned copy of Bank passbook
- If Institute/School is different from the domicile state of the applicant, then Bonafide student certificate from Institute/School.
However, the following documents are mostly required to be uploaded for Fresh applications if the amount of Scholarship is more than Rs. 50,000/- per annum.

Caste/Community certificate as per scheme requirement

Income Certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the State/UT Government.

Disability certificate as per the scheme requirement
-
Single girl child certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the State/UT Government as per the scheme requirement

Scanned copy of Bank Passbook reflecting Bank Account number and IFSC details only in case not opted for Aadhar Based payment (for Pre-Matric Scheme where students do not have their own bank account, parents/guardian can provide their own account details).
- Residential/Domicile Certificate.
How to Register on National Scholarship Portal?
Follow the below steps to register on National Scholarship Portal.

Visit the National Scholarship Portal
-
Click on ‘New Registration’ under ‘Login’ in the Application Corner.
-
Read the candidate guidelines carefully.
-
Tick the checkbox and click on ‘Continue’.
-
Select either of the three options.
-
I have Aadhaar
-
Aadhaar not assigned (I have EID)
-
I don’t have Aadhar/ EID
-
Enter your mobile number and click on ‘Get OTP’.
-
An OTP will be sent on the entered mobile number. Enter the OTP.
-
Enter the captcha and click on ‘Verify’.
-
An application form will open on your screen.
-
Fill the application.
-
Upload all the required documents.
-
Students who have been assigned Aadhaar shall mandatorily provide their Aadhaar number in their application
-
Student(s)/The Student who do not possess Aadhaar shall provide the enrolment ID (if available), and upload scanned copy Bank Passbook with Photograph, in PDF or JPEG format (Maximum size 200 KB). The student will also be required to upload bonafide student certificate from Institute / School in along with their application form
-
Upon submitting all the details on the registration page, students will get a unique application ID and password through SMS on the provided(registered) mobile number.
- The student shall login to NSP using application ID and password received. The student must change the password upon first login.
