The ration card is one of the most important documents in India. The following is a step-by-step guide to help you to apply for a new family card in Tamil Nadu.

Follow the below steps to register in the eSevai portal.

Visit TN eSevai portal

Click on “Citizen Login”

If you are a new user, click on "New User"

Enter the required details.

You will receive an OTP in your registered mobile number to register in the esevai portal.
Apply for a New Family Card in Tamil Nadu
After TN eSevai registration, follow the below steps to apply for a new family card in Tamil Nadu.

Login to TN eSevai portal.

Click on "Services"
- Click on “Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection department"

Click on “PDS-501 Apply For New Family Card”

Enter mandatory details in both English and Tamil

Attach the photo

If the applicant has an existing ration card, Enter the “Card No”, and attach the ration card document.

Add Family Members details with DOB, Gender, and Aadhaar Number on the “Details of family members” field

Click on “Save Member” If any details are found incorrect, there is an option to either “Edit” or “Delete”)

Select “Type of Card” on the “Card option”

Select “Proof of Residence”, and Attach Residence Proof document.

If "Gas Connection" is available, Click on the Checkbox
-
Enter the Details, If you have two connections you need to fill in both the connection details.

Accept the Terms and Conditions.

Click on “Submit”

After Submitting the request, if the transaction is confirmed success message will be received with the “Print Receipt” button to download the receipt.
Track New Family Card Application Status
Follow the below steps to check the status of the new family card application.

Login to TN eSevai portal

Click on "Check Status"
-
Enter "Application number" / "Transaction Number" to track the status of the application.

Click on "Fetch"

It will cost you INR 60 to Apply for a New Family Card.
