How to apply for PM KUSUM Scheme?

Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha even Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM KUSUM) Scheme for farmers for installation of solar pumps and grid-connected solar and other renewable power plants in the country. PM KUSUM  promises to fulfil the irrigation and water problems of farmers by providing a 60% subsidy to the farmer for setting up pump sets and tube wells on their land. 

Benefits of PM KUSUM Scheme

As per the PM KUSUM  scheme, the farmer will get subsidies on new and improved solar-powered pumps. The farmers will have to spend only 10% of the total expenditure to acquire and install a solar pump and 60% cost will be handled by govt and the remaining 30% will be taken care of by the bank as credit. PM KUSUM Scheme consist of three components namely;

1. Component A: 10,000 MW of Decentralized Ground Mounted Grid Connected Renewable Power Plants of individual plant size up to 2 MW.

2. Component B: Installation of 17.50 lakh standalone Solar Powered Agriculture Pumps of individual pump capacity up to 7.5 HP.

3. Component C: Solarisation of 10 Lakh Grid-connected Agriculture Pumps of individual pump capacity up to 7.5 HP.

How to apply online for PM KUSUM Scheme?

Follow the below procedure to apply online for the PM KUSUM scheme.

• Visit PM KUSUM website.

• Log in with the reference number on the homepage of the portal.

•  Click on the “Apply” button.

• Upon clicking on the apply button, the farmer will be taken to the registration page.

• Enter all the required details such as farmers' names, mobile numbers, e-mail address, and other information.

• On submitting the application form, the farmer will receive the message stating “Successfully Registered”.
