Ujjwala 2.0 was launched to provide additional one crore LPG connections to adult women of poor households under PMUY with a budgetary support of Rs. 1600 /connection. In addition to existing eligibility criteria, following facilities have been provided to beneficiaries under Ujjwala 2.0:-

• Online Application facility on newly launched portal pmuy.gov.in
• Acceptance of self-declaration from migrants to declare family composition and address proof.
• Free of cost - first refill and stove.
• e-KYC using Aadhaar authentication

Benefits of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.0

Cash assistance for PMUY connections is provided by Government of India - Rs. 1600 (for a connection 14.2kg cylinder/ Rs. 1150 for a 5 kg cylinder). The cash assistance covers:

• Security Deposit of Cylinder – Rs. 1250 for 14.2 kg cylinder/ Rs. 800 for 5 kg cylinder

• Pressure Regulator – Rs. 150

• LPG Hose – Rs. 100

• Domestic Gas Consumer Card – Rs. 25

• Inspection/ Installation/ Demonstration charges – Rs. 75

Additionally, All PMUY beneficiaries will be provided with first LPG refill and Stove (hotplate) both free of cost along with their deposit free connection by the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).

Beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.0

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana scheme mainly focuses on BPL household. But it also includes the following categories,

• All SC/STs households beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana(PMAY) (Gramin)

• Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY)

• Forest dwellers

• Most Backward Classes (MBC)

• Tea & Ex-Tea Garden Tribes

• People residing in Islands

• People residing in river islands

Eligibility Criteria of Pradhan Mantri Ujjawal Yojana 2.0

An adult woman belonging to a poor household and not having LPG connection in her household, will be eligible under UJJWALA 2.0. The beneficiaries should belong to any of the following categories:

• Eligible as per SECC 2011 list

• Belongs to SC/ST households, be a beneficiary of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), Forest dwellers, Most Backward Classes (MBC), Tea and Ex-Tea Garden Tribes, People residing in riverIslands (Beneficiary will submit supporting document)

• If she is not falling in the above 2 categories, then she can stake her claim to be a beneficiary under Poor household by submitting 14-point declaration (as per prescribed format).

Documents Required for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.0

The applicant must provide following documents:

• KYC as per the standard format carrying photograph of the applicant and duly signed.

• POI (Proof of Identity)

• POA (Proof of Address)

• Aadhaar copy of Applicant,

• Aadhaar copy of all adult family members as mentioned in Ration Card or similar document.

• Bank account details of the applicant

• Ration card or any other family document issued by State Govt. /District administration detailing household composition (such as Bhamashah Card in Rajasthan and Samagra Id in MP, Parivar Register of Uttar Pradesh, Parivar Pehchan Patra in Haryana, Rice Card of Andhra Pradesh or any other state specific card getting added later) of the identified household in which her name appears. In states, where the State Government portal has updated family details, a self signed copy of the printout from this portal can also be submitted by the beneficiary in lieu of ration card.

• Self-declaration as per Annexure-I in lieu of Ration card for ascertaining family composition in case of Migrant Applicants.

• Supporting Document, in case connection is applied under any of the seven categories (i.e. SC/ST households, beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) (Gramin), Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), Forest dwellers, Most Backward Classes (MBC), Tea and Ex-Tea Garden Tribes, People residing in river Islands).

• 14-point declaration in support of Poor household duly signed by applicant as per standard format given. 

How to Apply Online for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.0?

Follow the below steps to apply online for pradhan mantri ujjwala yojana/ ujjwala yojana 2.0.

• Visit the PMUY website.
• Click on 'Apply for PMUY Connection'.

• Select the oil company (Indane/ Bharat Gas/ HP Gas)

• Select the type of connection.

• Select your state and district.

• Choose the distributor from the list.

• Enter your details and submit.

How to Apply Offline for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.0?

Following is the process for applying offline for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.

• A woman of the BPL household, who doesn’t have LPG connection may apply for a new LPG connection (in the prescribed format) to the LPG distributor.

• While submitting the application form, the woman should submit details, like Address, Jandhan/ Bank Account and Aadhar number

• The LPG Field officials will match the application against SECC - 2011 database. Name of the applicant should be there in the SECC 2011 list.

• After ascertaining their BPL status, enter the details (name, address etc ) into a dedicated OMC Web portal through a login/ password given by the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs)

• The connection shall be issued by the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) to the eligible beneficiaries (after completion of various stages above).

• While the connection charges would be borne by the Government, the OMCs would provide an option for the new consumer to opt for EMIs, if she so desires, to cover the cost of a cooking stove and first refill.

• The EMI amount may be recovered by the OMCs from the subsidy amount due to the consumer on each refill
