A residence certificate is proof of permanent residence of a citizen in a village or town or ward. A residence certificate is required as proof of residence to avail of Residence / Resident Quotas in educational institutions and in the Government Service, and in the case of jobs where residents of Goa are preferred.

Documents Required to get Residence Certificate in Goa

Following documents are required to get Residence Certificate in Goa.

  1. Birth Certificate. [Self attested]

  2. Residence Certificate (old copy, if any). [Self attested]

  3. Educational qualification certificate (School Leaving or Bonafide Certificate). [Self attested]

  4. Identity proof e.g. Voter's card, PAN card, Driving License, Passport copy, Aadhaar card etc. (Any one). [Self attested]

  5. Marriage Certificate (incase of married woman). [Self attested]

  6. LPG connection (incase of rented premises). [Self attested]

  7. Self declaration.

  8. Self Declaration (N.O.C.) of the house owner (incase of rented premises). [Self attested]

How to apply online for Residence Certificate in Goa?

Follow the below steps to apply online for Residence Certificate in Goa.

First, you need to register on the Goa Online portal.

  • Open Goa Online portal

  • Click on Register option in menu bar to register.

  • Enter your Email ID and Mobile number and click on Generate OTP.

  • Once the Email ID and mobile number is entered, the OTP will be sent for the verification on the given mobile number.

  • Once the OTP is verified enter Name as per Aadhar , Aadhar Number/ Virtual ID, click on I agree checkbox and click on Validate.

  • Aadhar No. once validated cannot be updated. Click on OK to proceed further

  • Enter desired username and set the password.

  • Reenter the password and captcha code and click on Register/sign up button.

Once you have registered, you can apply online for residence certificate in Goa.

  • Login to Goa online portal.

  • Enter Username and password and click on Login

  • Once the user is logged into the system, go to services and click on All services

  • Fill in the application form

  • Attach relevant documents

  • Submit the application and note the acknowledgement no. for application tracking.

It will take 5 days to get Residence certificate in Goa after the application.
