Terms and Conditions for services related to death cases in Dubai Municipality

This service covers death cases of UAE citizens, GCC citizens, and expatriates holding valid residence visas issued from Dubai.

This service includes procedures related to deaths, such as:

Transport, preparation, washing, shrouding and burial of deceased Muslims according to the provisions of Islamic Shari

The deceased of new-borns, foetus and human organs (for Muslims) are washed, shrouded and buried in a special corner in the Qusais and Al Quoz cemeteries, and (for non-Muslims) they are directly buried in another separate corner

A permit to bury or cremate deceased non-Muslims, according to the police report (for non-Muslim individuals holding a valid Dubai residence visa and wishing to bury or cremate their deceased in Dubai)

Transport the body of the deceased from and to Dubai Airport (for death cases of citizens of the UAE and GCC or expatriates holding valid residence visas issued in Dubai)

Issuance of burial certificates for deceased Muslims who were buried by Dubai Municipality after 1991 in the Qusais and Al Quoz cemeteries.

This service is provided by theCemeteries Section in the Department of Public Health Services, and death certificates are only granted to first degree relatives.

Documents Required for services related to death cases in Dubai Municipality
Apply to bury deceased Muslims:
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) for burial, issued by Dubai Police.
- Valid copy of the Emirates ID or passport or family book if neither was available (for citizens).
- Copy of the passport with a valid residence visa issued in Dubai (for expatriates).
- Copy of the death certificate or notification.
Apply to transport a deceased person:
- Copy of the death certificate with complete data (name, nationality, gender, birth date and death date).
Apply to bury or cremate deceased non-Muslims:
- NOC for burial or cremation issued by Dubai Police.
- Copy of the passport with a valid residence visa issued in Dubai (for expatriates).
- Copy of the death certificate or notification.
Apply to burial of the new-borns, foetus and human organs
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) for burial, issued by Dubai Police.
- An approved hospital burial request.
Apply for a Burial Certificate of deceased Muslims:
- Passport or Emirates ID of the deceased.
- Passport or Emirates ID of the of applicant proving a first degree relation with the deceased (husband, wife, parent, child).
