UP Free Tablet Smartphone Yojana aims to provide smartphones and tablets to the youth of the state.

About 1 crore youth will be benefitted through this scheme. A budget of Rs 3000 crore has been earmarked by the government to run this scheme.

Students studying in graduation, post graduation, technical and diploma courses will be elligible to get the benefit of UP Free Tablet Smartphone Scheme.

Under this scheme, digital access will also be provided to the youth for free. Students will be able to get education through these tablets and smartphones.

In future, students will also find it easier to search jobs through these smartphones and tablets. Apart from this, the state government has also announced to give allowance to the youth for appearing in competitive exams.

Eligibility Criteria of UP Free Tablet Smartphone Yojana

Following are the eligibility criteria of UP Free Tablet Smartphone Yojana

• The student must be a permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh.

• Student must be pursuing graduation, post graduation technical or diploma.

• The annual income of the applicant's family should be INR 200000 or less.

• Student must be studying in private or government school.

Registration Process under UP Free Tablet Smartphone Yojana

There is no registration to be done by students on the portal. The data is to be provided by the institute, via their universities. A technical process has been defined for the same. All Universities/Colleges/Institutes and other Educational Bodies will be informed about the process through Email or Notification or Notice or Official Website.

Instructions for Students for UP Free Tablet Smartphone Yojana

Following are the instructions for students for UP Free Tablet Smartphone Yojana.

• Under this scheme students do not need to register/apply anywhere to get a tablet/smartphone.

• No login ID will be created for students at any point of time in the entire process.

• The respective colleges will provide their student enrollment data to the universities which will be uploaded on the portal.

• Once the data is uploaded and verified, students will be able to get information about the status of their tablets/smartphones.

• In case of any discrepancy in the data, students can inform the nodal officer of their college.

• Students will continue to receive regular updates through SMS regarding the status of their tablets/smartphones.

There are three OEMs (Samsung, Acer, and Lava) currently supplying devices for this scheme. Their respective specifications are as follows:

• Samsung Smartphone:

• Model: A03/A03s
  Specification: RAM 3GB, ROM 32 GB, Octa Core Processor, 8 MP back camera, 5 MP front camera, 5000 mAh battery, storage expendable up to 1 TB.

• Lava Smartphone:

• Model: LE000Z93P (Z3)
  Specification: RAM 3GB, ROM 32 GB, Quad Core Processor or higher, 8 MP back camera, 5 MP front camera, 5000 mAh battery, storage expendable to 16 GB or higher.

• Samsung Tablet PC:
