Widow Re-marriage Scheme

The main purpose of the Widow Re-marriage Scheme is to help in rehabilitation of widows by encouraging men to enter into wedlock with widows by providing some monetary incentive for the same. Under this scheme grant is sanctioned to Bonafide Himachali men and women who are above the age of 21 years and 18 years respectively at the time of wedlock.

Benefits under Widow Re-marriage Scheme

If any widow remarries, a cheque of Rs. 20,000/- is given to the women and a Fix Deposit worth Rs. 30,000/- for the 5 years term is given to the couple.

Eligibility Criteria for Widow Re-marriage Scheme

Both the widow and the person marrying her must be bonafide residents of Himachal Pradesh.

Following are the documents required for widow remarriage scheme.

• Proof of Date/year of the first marriage

• Proof of Date/year which she became widow

• Proof of Date of Re-Marriage

• Proof of Name and Address of person to whom widow is marrying

• Himachal Bonafide Certificate of Women

• Proof of Annual Family Income of applicant

• Visit Himachal Pradesh e-district portal.

• Click on ‘Citizen Services’.

• Click on ‘New Registration’.

• A New User Registration form will open on your screen.

• Fill all the details carefully.

• If required, upload an id proof as well as a profile photo.

• Click on ‘Register’.

• Login using your user id and password.

• Enter the captcha and click on submit.

• Click on ‘Apply for New Service’.

• Select ‘Widow Re-marriage’.

• An application form will open on your screen.

• Fill the application form carefully.

• Upload the required documents.

• Make the required payment.

• You will receive a confirmation message on your registered mobile number along with the reference number.
